2 June Following the decision to cancel the 2020 Convention, the July issue of Maple Leaves will include details of how a number of administrative matters, normally dealt with in the Annual General Meeting held during Convention, will be handled.

30 May The 23 May Scottish regional meeting went ahead via Zoom and was judged a great success by the members attending. so much so that an additional meeting has now been planned - once again via Zoom - for Saturday 18 July.

30 May ADDITIONAL COVID 19 UPDATE:- We are sorry to announce that the 2020 CPSGB Convention in Eastbourne has been cancelled. Please see here for a message from the President.

18 April ADDITIONAL COVID 19 UPDATE:- BNAPS have announced that the BNAPEX show scheduled for early September in Dartmouth/ Halifax, Nova Scotia has been cancelled. It is planned that the 2021 event will continue to be held in Winnipeg with a return to Dartmouth/ Halifax being planned for 2023.

3 April COVID 19 UPDATE:- Please note the following updates to events advertised in the recent issue of Maple Leaves:-

The RPSC show in Fredericton scheduled for June 19 has been cancelled. The Eastern Auctions sale that was to have taken place during this event will be re-scheduled to a later date.

We also understand that the ORAPEX event scheduled for early May has been cancelled.

20 March Following a decision by the Royal Philatelic Society to temporarily close their London premises during the current Coronavirus situation, members who were planning to attend the London Group meetings should note that the meetings planned for May 11 and July 5 have been cancelled. Any impact on future meeting dates will be posted here in due course.

12 February The archive copies of Maple Leaves for the year 2014 have been added to the site. You can find them here.

15 October The Officers page, trophy pages and Roll of Presidents have all been updated following the AGM in Bakewell.

15 October Members will be pleased to hear that the AGM in Bakewell aproved a resolution to reduce annual subscriptions. Subscriptions will fall due on 1 January 2020 and a reminder form will be enclosed in the October issue of Maple Leaves. A copy of the form can be downloaded here.

26 April 2019 My thanks to an eagle-eyed member who has spotted a couple of typos in the 1955 issues of Maple Leaves. These issues contain a series of articles by R. Willan on matters Newfoundland. However, the articles in whole numbers 37 and 38 - issues of August and October 1955 - are wrongly attributed to a R. Willam. This is only likely to trouble you if you are doing an online search for articles by Willan - in which case you will miss these two (further proof that computers are intrinsically dumb!) So if you are researching in this area be aware!

14 January 2019 Courtesy of member Charles Livermore we have added a new feature to our Convention Archives. For the 2018 Convention you can now find links to view and hear presentations given at the Convention. This will be of particular interest to those who were not able to attend. At present we have uploaded only one such presentation, the one Charles himself gave on Toronto Military History. You can find the link here.

2 August 2018 Those members who are avid users of Social Media will be pleased to learn that the Society now has a Facebook presence. The Society Facebook page is 'Canadian Philatelic Society of Great Britain' and we also have a group discussion page which is 'Canadian Philatelic Society of GB Discussion Group'.

27 June 2018 We have added a new display to the site featuring the Gold Medal winning one frame display of Newfoundland Postal History. You can find it here.

17 October 2017 A new feature has been added to the site. If you follow the links via the Benefits page and Convention section you will find details of all the Society Trophies which may be awarded on a annual basis. A short cut link can be found here.

27 January 2017 A full update of the Members Handbook Part 2 - Society Constitution and Rules has been uploaded to the website. You can find this here. In addition a link to the Exchange Packet rules has been added to the Exchange Packet page and the Benefits page now includes links to a list of past Convention venues, the rules of the Society Convention Competitions and the Exchange Packet rules. The 'About Us' page now also includes a link to full lists of past Presidents, Fellows and Honorary Life Members of the Society. In future, all of the above information (which was previously printed in the Members Handbook updates) will only be maintained up to date on the website.

28 April 2016 Thanks to the good offices of John Walsh, Editor of the excellent Newfoundland Specialised Catalogue, we are now able to offer an additional feature in our Maple Leaves Archive section. It is now possible to download complete volumes of Maple Leaves as a single pdf file as an alternative to individual issues. All 31 volumes of the archive are now available in this form. Be warned however that some of the files are very large so if you have slow (or no) broadband be prepared for a long wait!
